The faceplate on the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is the outer decorative shell that covers the device’s front face. It surrounds the camera, motion sensor, LED ring, and doorbell button, and is the first component a visitor sees when approaching the front door. Ring designed it to be removable and replaceable: it can be swapped for different color options without tools, and its removal is the first step in accessing the device’s internal components for repair or maintenance. Step 2 – Locate the release notch at the bottom of the faceplate.

Step 3 – Apply outward pressure at the bottom edge
